Choosing models

Workspace model

Open Settings → Model to see the models available to your workspace. Members can inspect the choice; admins can change the workspace default.

Choose Auto where offered to let OpenTag select the serving model, or choose an available model explicitly. The current picker is the source of truth for model availability.

Channel and conversation choices

An admin can set a model override in a channel's Slack settings. Choose the inherited workspace option to remove that override.

A conversation can also offer its own model selection. Check the effective choice when a conversation behaves differently from the workspace default; a more specific choice may be active.

Image and video models

Image and video generation have separate choices on the Model page. Changing the text model does not necessarily change the media model.

Check usage and replies

Model choice can affect the work's credit consumption. Compare representative jobs in Usage before making a large recurring workload depend on a new choice.

Where the model footer is enabled, Slack replies identify the model used. A model change does not widen source access or remove connection permissions and approvals.
