Connecting an app
Connect an account, review its permissions and return to the job that needs it.
Connect from the app
Open Integrations
Sign in at app.tryopentag.com/integrations and select the app you need.
Choose access
Review who can use the connection and, where offered, choose Read only or Read and write. Document apps may show separate personal and shared content controls. How connections work explains the choices.
Authorise the account
Continue to the provider and approve the requested permissions, or enter the credentials in the connection form. Check the account and organisation before confirming.
Try the original job
Return to the thread and ask OpenTag to use the connection. A narrow first request, such as finding one named record, makes the result easy to check.
Connect while asking for work
If a job needs an app you have not connected, OpenTag can give you a connection link. Complete the connection, then return to the conversation.
Never paste a password or API key into a Slack message. Use the integration form or the secure field OpenTag provides.
Add another account
Open the integration and add another connection. Existing accounts remain available. This is useful for separate Google accounts, client organisations or different stores.
Name the account in your request when it matters: “Use the Northwind account for this report.” Sharing and permissions apply to each connection separately.
Google services
Gmail, Calendar and Drive have separate controls, with multiple Google accounts supported. Docs uses document access through Google Drive. Google Sheets also has its own integration.
If connection fails
Check that the provider account can authorise apps and access the records you need. An organisation may require its own administrator's approval. For expired credentials or a connection that used to work, see Fixing a broken connection.
