Why usage and not per seat?

Because the work is not the same size every time. A quick lookup and a week-long project should not cost you the same, and you should not buy a seat for someone who asks OpenTag something twice a month. You pay for what OpenTag does, not for who can reach it.

Does adding people cost more?

Accepted Answer

No. Everyone in a channel OpenTag has joined can give it work, and they all draw from the same pool of credits. Adding your whole team changes nothing on the bill.

What does a month of credits actually buy?

Team's 5,000-credit pack is around a dozen recurring jobs a month, or about a hundred small ones, or any mix of the two. 10,000 is around 25 recurring jobs, 20,000 around 50, 50,000 around 130, and 100,000 around 260. For scale: a weekly report costs about 375 credits each time it runs.

What is the signing bonus?

A one-time grant of credits that comes with the Team pack you start on, matching that first month: 5,000, 10,000, 20,000, 50,000, or 100,000. It sits on top of your monthly credits and never expires, so your first weeks of moving real work over do not eat into a normal month.

Do unused credits roll over?

Monthly credits reset when the month does. Signing bonus credits are the exception: they never expire, so whatever you do not spend early keeps its value.

How does annual billing work?

Pick annually on the Team card and every month costs 15% less: $42.50 instead of $50 for 5,000 credits, $85 instead of $100 for 10,000, $170 instead of $200 for 20,000, $425 instead of $500 for 50,000, $850 instead of $1,000 for 100,000. That saves $90, $180, $360, $900, or $1,800 a year, and credits still arrive month by month.

What happens if we run out of credits?

OpenTag tells you in the channel, and you can buy more to keep going. Nothing is ever added to your bill on its own, and your plan stays at its price unless you choose otherwise. If you run out most months, we will reach out about a plan that fits better.

What if a run fails?

OpenTag says so in the channel with what it tried and why it stopped, and it does not retry sensitive actions on its own.
