OpenTag has completed its SOC 2 Type I examination

Prescient Assurance examined the design of OpenTag’s controls relevant to Security as of September 23, 2026. Our report is now available by request.

Our Type I examination is complete

OpenTag has completed its SOC 2 Type I examination. Prescient Assurance examined OpenTag’s controls relevant to Security as of September 23, 2026.

The signed report is available by request through our Trust Center. SOC 2 reports are examinations, not certifications, so we want to be precise about the milestone: Type I is complete, and Type II is in progress.

What Type I means

A Type I examination evaluates whether controls are suitably designed at a specified point in time. For OpenTag, that date was September 23, 2026, and the examination covered controls relevant to Security.

The report gives customers independent evidence to use in their own vendor reviews. It does not mean that Type II is complete or that the controls have already been observed over an extended period; evaluating their operating effectiveness over time is the purpose of Type II.

“Trust should be inspectable: clear boundaries, independent evidence, and precise claims about what has—and has not—been examined.”

Security has to live in the product

An audit report matters, but it is not the boundary that keeps a product safe. Those boundaries have to show up in how the product works every day.

OpenTag works only in channels it has been invited into, uses the access of the person asking, and keeps each workspace’s data separate. Messages, files, and connected data are not used to train models. Actions such as sending, spending, submitting, and purchasing stop for a person’s approval.

Type II is already in progress

Our SOC 2 Type II examination is underway. Type II evaluates how controls operate over a period of time, and we will update the Trust Center when that examination is complete.

Completing Type I is an important checkpoint, not a finish line. We will keep improving the controls, product boundaries, and documentation that customers rely on as OpenTag takes on more work.

Thank you to the customers who pushed us with thoughtful security questions. Better diligence makes the product, and the company behind it, stronger.
